Nancy J. Lewthwaite, B.S.R., O.T. graduated with a degree in Rehabilitation Medicine from the University of British Columbia. She has 34 years experience working as an occupational and physiotherapist in a variety of settings, including pediatric, private practice physio, psychiatric, geriatric and psychogeriatric outreach. During almost ten years working in an extended care unit, Nancy became interested in, and focused on the mental stimulation of clients with varying cognitive abilities.

Nancy published Mental Aerobics, a resource manual of mentally stimulating group activities, now used throughout Canada, the U.S. and Great Britain. With the publication came many requests to present workshops on a variety of geriatric topics. More than 3,000 people have attended her workshops under the title of It's Never Too Late To Stimulate!®.

As a result of an overwhelming response, both nationally and internationally to Mental Aerobics, she published a companion volume with all new activities, entitled More Mental Aerobics.
